Correspondence

Although all hand-written, this collection was selected from the Manuscripts as a separate collection and contains 3088 units of letters, postcards, business cards etc. It largely consists of correspondence by significant persons in the Dubrovnik cultural and social life between the 17th and 20th century. Among them were poets and other authors, priests, musical composers, teachers, politicians, publishers, newspaper editors, painters such as:  Lucas Primo de Primo (16th c.), Junije Rastić (1669/1671 – 1735), Luka Sorkočević (1734 – 1789), Pjerko (Pijerko) Sorkočević (1749 – 1828), Vicenzo Dandolo (1758 – 1819), Domenio Garagnin (1761 – 1848),  Francesco Maria Appendini (1768 – 1837), Urban Appendini (1777 – 1834), Josip Juraj Strossmayer (1815 – 1905), Mato Vodopić  (1816 – 1893), Niko Pucić (1820 - 1883), Medo (Orsat) Pucić (1821 – 1882), Baldo (Baltazar) Bogišić (1834 – 1908),   Konstantin Jireček (1854 – 1918),  Vlaho Bukovac (1855 – 1922), Ivo Vojnović (1857 – 1929), Lujo Vojnović (1864 – 1951), Aleksa Šantić (1868 – 1924), Frano Supilo (1870 – 1917), Jovan Dučić (1871 – 1943).
